About

I’m Jenn McNeil,  an editor and publishing consultant dedicated to bringing out the best in every author’s voice. With almost twenty years of experience in book publishing, I have the skill and insight to make sure your text is developed to the highest industry standard.

A little about me…

I spent five years working in-house with Thomas Nelson publishers in Nashville, Tennessee, where I was a senior editor of nonfiction books. In 2011 I set up shop as a freelance editor and have since worked on hundreds of projects for major publishing houses and private clients. Several of these books have become New York Times bestsellers, industry award winners, and even hit movies. I specialize in developmental work, copyediting, and writing, and I enjoy working on all genres from children’s to theology to history and the arts.

My two favorite things are books and music, and I’m lucky to have worked in both industries; my background is in classical music, specializing in classical guitar. I’ve edited for Soundboard magazine (Guitar Foundation of America) and acted as administrative director of Boston GuitarFest (New England Conservatory). I have a bachelor’s in music and English literature from Vanderbilt University (under John Johns) and a master’s in music/ guitar performance from Boston’s New England Conservatory (under Eliot Fisk). As a fellow of the Belgian American Educational Foundation, I moved to Brussels, Belgium, in 2013 to study guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (under Antigoni Goni), and liked it so much I stayed! I currently live in Brussels with my very Flemish husband Maarten, our baby boy Owen, and our enthusiastic Australian shepherd Hildie (aka Hildegard von Barkin).
